What 038 Is Built For
The 038 is a straight-cutter Router Plane for controlled depth work. Use it for leveling dados and groove bottoms, cleaning rabbets, refining tenon cheeks, and general joinery cleanup.
Dual-Screw Cutter Locking
The 038 uses two locking screws in its cutter-locking structure.
Straight-Cutter System
The 038 uses the Cowryman straight-cutter system. The complete Router Plane includes one 8 mm HSS straight cutter. Current replacement options are 3 mm, 5 mm, and 6 mm straight cutters, plus a 3 mm and 6 mm cutter set. Replacement-cutter-only configurations do not include the Router Plane. The 038 does not use the 042 L-shaped cutter system.
Find Replacement CuttersFence Sold Separately
A compatible 038 fence is available separately and is not included with the complete Router Plane. The fence-only configuration contains the compatible 038 fence only; it does not include the Router Plane, cutter, or other accessories.
