What 042 Is Built For
The 042 is an L-shaped-cutter Router Plane for controlled depth work in corners, along edges, in hinge mortises, and in narrow recesses. Maximum cutting depth is 25 mm.
L-Shaped Cutter Access
The 042 uses a dedicated L-shaped cutter configuration rather than the straight-cutter system used by models 003, 040, 022, 035, and 038. The cutter geometry is intended for narrow areas, edges, corners, and hinge mortises.
Large Depth-Adjustment Knob + Depth-Stop Ring
The 042 uses a large depth-adjustment knob and a separate depth-stop ring as part of its depth-setting mechanism.
L-Shaped Cutter System
The complete Router Plane includes one 8 mm HSS L-shaped cutter. The current replacement-cutter configurations on this product page are 3 mm and 6 mm HSS L-shaped cutters. Replacement-cutter-only configurations do not include the Router Plane. The 042 does not use the straight-cutter replacement system.
